St Helena Sports Day 2023 in Review

St Helena Sports Day (also known as Reading Sports) re[1]turned this August Bank Holiday to celebrate the end of summer and of course, all things St Helenian. This annual charity event which The St Helena Association UK organises took place again at Reading Abbey Rugby Club over the course of two days where many Saints from across the country met up and partook in a weekend full of fun for the whole family.

This was my first time attending St Helena Sports Day as an attendee after formerly serving as Head of Marketing and Head of Events on the committee since 2015. This made for a very different experience to what I am normally accustomed to as I was able to fully immerse myself in the event. In this review, I’m going to be looking at this much-loved event from the perspective of a former organiser and an attendee to provide a very deep dive into what worked well and what could be improved for future events.
