Drink-Drive Limits Toughened Up

Legislative Council met yesterday (Thursday) and passed a Bill which reduces the permissible levels of alcohol in the blood when in charge of a car or attempting to drive.

The amended legislation refers to section 43 of the 1985 Road Traffic Ordinance where:-

153 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of urine

107 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of urine

The amendments to the 1985 Road Traffic Ordinance also include the regulation of public service vehicles and the delegation of authority to issue a licence.
