James Bay Weather Warning Extended – News Flash
This time last week it was thought the lively sea rolling into James Bay and Ruperts Bay would start to calm down around now – but the weather warning was extended this morning
The north-westerly swell is now expected to continue until Friday this week, 24th January. This morning, SHG issued the usual safety advice to boat owners, swimmers and for parking vehicles.
Also today MACS Shipping issued an updated shipping schedule confirming the MV Karoline is expected to arrive on Tuesday 28th January. Let’s hope there is no further extension of the weather warning.
Some yachts in the Oyster World Rally 2024-25 have already arrived: others crews are following and could be affected by the high swells. The leading yachts in the World Arc Rally have only recently left Walvis Bay and should avoid a white-water ride.
