Fire at Horse Point Landfill

A fire broke out at Horse Point Landfill on Tuesday and, while it was brought under control by Friday, it continues to smoulder and is being closely monitored. The fire occurred in the Green Waste Cell, where vegetation waste is stored for future composting. The Fire Service, along with landfill manager Patrick Crowie, is keeping a watchful eye on the area to ensure no smouldering spots re-ignite.
